U.S. Olympic Committee Receives Patriotism Injections by the Senate | 2014 Team USA Uniforms to be Made in America
Prospects of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s, D-Nev, Olympic uniform “burning man” 2014 have been extinguished as the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) has taken their public lashing and turned it into new found patriotism.
USOC will ensure that uniforms, moving forward, will be made in the USA in time for the 2014 winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, as part of a deal that was announced yesterday with a group of U.S. Senators led by Sen. Robert Menendez, D-NJ.
New legislation was introduced in the senate last week that would require all Team USA Olympic uniforms for future Olympic games to be made in America. As a result, USOC created a new policy in line with the drafted “Team USA Made in America Act.”
Ralph Lauren, the official maker of Team USA’s olympic uniforms made the following statement: “Ralph Lauren promises to lead the conversation within our industry and our government addressing the issue of increasing manufacturing in the United States and has committed to producing the Opening and Closing ceremony Team USA uniforms in the United States that will be worn for the 2014 Olympic Games.”
Nothing will change for this year’s uniforms that were made in China by the U.S. corporation Ralph Lauren due to time constraints. Although, we would put our money on the hard working seamstresses over at Etsy. They could knock out an entire line of Olympic uniforms, made in the USA, before the closing ceremonies.
